Meet Dr Patricia Ortiz
As an AHPRA-registered Osteopath and PACFA-registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I provide a truly holistic approach to care. I do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” model; instead, I recognise that genuine healing requires an individualised plan that honours your unique history, experiences, and needs.
My work is grounded in over 30 years of experience in the health field, with a particular focus on trauma recovery and the complex interplay between body and mind. Throughout my career, I have drawn on diverse disciplines to create an integrated, patient-centred approach to care.
This foundation is further strengthened by advanced training in functional medicine and the Biobalance Protocol, a methodology developed by psychiatrist Dr William Walsh to identify and address nutritional and biochemical imbalances that contribute to mental health challenges. By incorporating this evidence-based model, I am able to better understand and treat the underlying drivers of mood, behaviour, and resilience.
I am also completing a Fellowship with the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM), which is expanding my expertise in the impact of nutrition, environment, and physiology on emotional well-being. This additional training enables me to offer a comprehensive perspective that bridges osteopathy, psychotherapy, and functional medicine—helping patients achieve deeper, more sustainable recovery.
In osteopathic practice, I adopt a collaborative style, drawing on a broad range of techniques—including biomechanical and structural approaches, spinal and visceral manipulation, cranial osteopathy, and dry needling—to help relieve the physical effects of stress, trauma, and injury.
With a strong focus on the lasting effects of childhood trauma, I understand its profound influence on health and resilience. My dual training allows me to integrate physical and psychological care, offering a comprehensive pathway to recovery that supports the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.
My Education

Foundations of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine & Fellowship Candidate (current)
Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM)
This study expands my work into functional medicine, addressing the nutritional and environmental factors that influence health and trauma recovery.
"The BioBalance protocol deepens my work by addressing biochemical imbalances that affect mood, cognition, and stress regulation. By integrating this approach, I can support the brain and body at a cellular level, enhancing trauma recovery and overall wellbeing
Deep Brain Reorienting is a powerful and advanced approach for addressing trauma. It allows me to directly access and resolve the shock and survival patterns stored deep within the nervous system. By working at the brainstem level, where these primal responses originate, this method helps to resolve trauma at its source. This fosters profound and lasting improvements in emotional regulation, resilience, and overall well-being.
Ericksonian Hypnosis complements my work by utilising a permissive and tailored approach that respects your individual psyche. Through indirect suggestions and language patterns, it accesses the unconscious mind gently and effectively, helping to reframe limitations and mobilise your innate capacity for healing and growth. This allows us to create change that feels natural, respectful, and enduring.
I integrate EMDR into my practice because it provides a structured and effective method to heal from overwhelming life experiences. It helps the brain successfully process memories that are causing current distress, leading to a significant reduction in symptoms and a renewed sense of control.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) offers a practical and strategic framework for change. It provides a unique toolkit to identify and reshape the unconscious patterns of thought, communication, and behavior that limit potential. By reframing limiting beliefs and modeling effective strategies, NLP facilitates rapid and lasting change, allowing you to achieve your goals with greater clarity and efficiency.
